A popular tourist attraction, the Hanauma Bay has been a target of neglect and abuse from tourists. Many tourist disturb marine life, such as tang, parrotfish, and the famous green sea turtles. Due to the current situation of the pandemic, Hanauma Bay approximates only 3,000 visitors a day. Nowadays, the Hanauma Bay is limiting visitors and is focusing on educating tourists regarding the natural wildlife of the area.

It is important that individuals respect and obey the rules, so that they could prevent the environment and their lives from danger.

Tourists crowd the hike trail, making it difficult for hikers to continue the trail. It also breaks the rules of social distancing, due to approximately 800 people all on the trail. Tourists even bypass restricted areas, due to how crowded it is.
